Pros: Parts are built solid, and were nicely powder coated. I chose the silver because my bike is Suzuki silver, but this silver looks white next to the paint. Not a big deal for me, I think it adds a nice accent, but you should be aware. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Installation was easy, AFTER… I removed the frame bolts on my bike. My frame bolts were stuck good. But that has nothing to do with this kit. Just be aware that you may need copious amounts of penetrating oil and a breaker bar. Mounts directly to the frame, creating a very solid system. Cons: Torx head bolts. They expected me to bolt this up with Torx head bolts, I hate Torx head bolts, so bias opinion incoming. I did give the bolts a try at first, and almost immediately stripped out the head on two of the provided bolts even before I got to the tightening stage. Luckily I was able to remove them with a pair of vise grips. Do your self a favor, go down to the store and buy some hardened hex head bolts of the same thread and size. I would also advise using some anti-seize compound on threads and save yourself some future frustration. Conclusion: I would buy this kit again without hesitation, and I would recommend this kit to anyone. I’ve even given this kit a unintended field test. My VStrom got bumped and fell over in my garage. Once I righted the bike, I couldn’t even find a scratch on the powder coat. System protected all the fairing and signal lights on my bike beautifully. Hopefully that is the first, worst and last time that will ever happen to my bike. For a real report on the effectiveness of this kit though, you will need to go elsewhere, hopefully I will never find out this kits true effectiveness. Cheers.
